Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival & Preparation

  • Morning: Flight to Kota Kinabalu (not included)
  • 1:00 PM: Transfer to Kinabalu Park (2hrs)
  • 3:00 PM: Registration & gear check
  • 7:00 PM: Pre-climb briefing & early rest

Day 2 Base to Laban Rata

  • 6:30 AM: Breakfast at park HQ
  • 7:30 AM: Begin ascent (6-7 hours)
  • 3:00 PM: Arrive at Laban Rata (3,272m)
  • 4:00 PM: Acclimatization walk
  • 7:00 PM: Early dinner & rest

Day 3 Summit & Descent

  • 2:00 AM: Wake-up & light snack
  • 2:30 AM: Begin summit push (3-4 hours)
  • 5:30 AM: Reach Low's Peak for sunrise
  • 7:00 AM: Descend to Laban Rata
  • 1:00 PM: Continue descent to Timpohon Gate
  • 4:00 PM: Transfer to Kota Kinabalu hotel
  • 7:00 PM: Celebration dinner

Day 4 Departure

  • Morning: Free at leisure
  • 12:00 PM: Hotel check-out
  • Optional: City tour or hot springs visit
  • Evening: Airport transfer

Note: Itinerary may adjust based on weather and park regulations. Summit attempt depends on climber fitness and conditions.

Preparation Guide

Physical Training

 

  • 3-4 cardio sessions/week (hiking, stairs, running)
  • Leg strength exercises (squats, lunges)
  • Practice with loaded backpack
